Winning Thoroughbreds Show Consistent Bloodwork Gains on HYDR8 Elev8 Water
Five New York thoroughbreds showed consistent biomarker improvements across six health indicators over a 35-day observational pilot, including glucose normalization in all five horses and an average 40% reduction in muscle stress markers.
Key Findings
- Glucose normalized in all five horses tested, rising from an average of 38 mg/dL to 99 mg/dL (reference range: 68-120 mg/dL)
- CPK, a critical marker of muscle stress and recovery, decreased an average of 40% (range: 4% to 64% across individual horses)
- AST, a key liver and muscle enzyme, decreased an average of 36% (range: 6% to 53%)
- LDH, the most consistent metric across the cohort, decreased an average of 34% (range: 28% to 39%)
NEW YORK, NY, February 23, 2026 — HYDR8 today announced results from an observational pilot program evaluating its Elev8 water system in thoroughbred horse racing. Verified veterinary bloodwork from five thoroughbreds over a 35-day period showed consistent, measurable improvements across six key health biomarkers, including glucose normalization in 100% of the cohort.
The Elev8 system combines HYDR8’s NSF/ANSI 58-certified reverse osmosis purification with a proprietary mineral enhancement process. Originally developed for commercial and workplace hydration, the equine system was designed by Hydr8 and introduced as the sole drinking water source for a cohort of New York-based thoroughbred racehorses. Independent veterinary bloodwork panels were taken at Day 0 and Day 35. This was an observational pilot program without a control group.
Beyond bloodwork, the cohort produced notable results on the track. Five starts during the program yielded two wins, one second-place finish, and two thirds. Roman Grace, a 5-year-old mare returning from ankle surgery and a year-long layoff, won a competitive allowance race at Aqueduct at 11-to-1 odds after just weeks on Elev8 water. Another horse in the program, You’re Lookin Good, won her first career race after just five weeks on the system.
Amelia Green, one of New York’s top Trainers who is an early adopter of the program states, “I have had several of my horses on Hydr8’s Elev8 solution for the past two months and have seen first hand the positive impact it has had on their performance and overall condition. The results have been significant enough that I am incorporating it into the daily program for all of my horses.”
RJ Bianculli, Managing Partner of HYDR8 states, “I’ve been around thoroughbred horses since I was born. I’ve delivered dozens of babies on my family’s farm and these animals are near and dear to me personally. Delivering innovations like Hydr8’s Elev8 solution have REAL impacts and in my humble opinion have been ignored for far too long. The initial bloodwork and performance improvements speak for themselves and this should be a staple in every competitive thoroughbred barn across the country.”
HYDR8 is evaluating the Elev8 system for broader applications in equine performance, athletic recovery, and other environments where water quality directly affects health outcomes. The company plans to expand monitoring to additional horses over longer observation periods.
